BIO

My name is Philip. I am an Actor currently based Liverpool. I have been working as a professional actor for 10 years, performing in a range of productions, throughout Theatre, TV and Film. I have worked hard to build up a good reputation for being a conscientious, hard working and versatile performer and, more importantly, a strong team player.

Recently I had the pleasure of working alongside Daniel Brühl, Luke Evans and Dakota Fanning in 'The Alienist: Angel of Darkness' in Budapest. I also worked with an acting hero of mine, Stephen Graham (also originating from Kirkby) on 'Being Keegan'. This opportunity taught me that achieving your dreams can only be a day away and so I must keep relentless pushing to achieve them.

Ultimately, my aim in life is to enjoy the work that I am doing and to become the best that I possibly can be, both as a person and performer. I believe that hard work reaps big rewards and aside from expanding my experience in a range of theatrical mediums, my biggest ambition is to play The Doctor in Doctor Who. I believe that it is my destiny and one that I will pursue with relentless passion and commitment.

I hope you enjoy the site, please feel free to explore it to find out more about me. If you have any questions please feel free to email me.

I hope you have a lovely day.

Philip

The Gruffalo

This is one of Philip's passion projects where he narrated the fabulous story and illustrations of Julia Donaldonson and Axel Scheffler.

Silent Night

This is the work that Philip feels most proud of in his career. Silent Night was created to raise awareness of how it may feel to be homeless, particularly at one of the most important times of the year.

'Silent Night' was kindly given permission for use and is owned by Andrew Millington, Gordon Lorenz and Demon Music Group.

Mission Dalek

Mission Dalek was created and designed by Philip with the hopes of winning a BBC Doctor Who competition to send one of his dear friends a chance to visit the Tardis and meet 12th Doctor Peter Capaldi.

Reviews

I feel it wouldn’t be the special pantomime it is without Phillip McGuinness and Claire Simmo. Phillip was a shock to me – I was aware of his talent and professionalism before the show but seeing it on stage blew me away. You can tell he has put time and effort into perfecting the role of Captain Hook. His audience interaction, ability to improvise when things went wrong and acting is more than impressive

it’s Philip McGuiness who out the supporting roles steals the show as the villainous Captain Hook. There is real relish in his machiavellian menace that the audience clearly loves to hate.

Phillip McGuinness put in a stand-out performance as a lovable wide-eyed Tinman, with some impressive robotic dance moves to boot.
